Maybe they don't know how to reach her. She's probably travelling in her soul-searching. I'm sure that when Cote is ready to make a guest appearance, Ziva will apologize for not being able to be at the funeral. I do hope that early next season, they mention a telegram or letter from Ziva about Jackson.
I've always wondered if Rivera and his sister were aware of what their father did to Gibbs' family. You would think that the two men would at least understand the other's desire for vengeance. I knew I would cry over all the scenes involving Jackson but what made it worse was that he'd had a stroke. My dad was crippled by a stroke in 1999 and my grandma died from a stroke just last month. The truth is, Gibbs' loss is different from Vance's. Vance lost his life partner and the mother of his children. Gibbs loved his father dearly but rarely saw him. It was smart writing to connect the seemingly nothing case at the beginning of the show with the new one and both of them to Gibbs. It would have made sense from a narrative point of view for Rivera have the assassins target Jackson to take Gibbs' father from him but that would have been too tragic for Gibbs and may have taken him to a place of rage from which he probably would not recover.
I think that Hetty wasn't 100% sure that the White Ghost was Jack. If he wasn't, then Kensi would do her job and take him out. If he was, then Hetty trusted that Kensi would do the right thing and give Jack a chance. I thought it was odd, too, that Callen and Sam relied on the interpreter to communicate with the girl when they both speak Pashto. I hated the scene where Deeks waterboarded the cleric. I kept saying, "No, Deeks, no!" I felt bad that he was going to die in that airstrike that Granger ordered.
