I'm hoping Dracula is introduced soon. Both he and Lucifer may have to take direct action to get what they want.

Henry, I agree that this is not my favorite episode either but the exposition is wonderful. I don't think that Malcom came out of that enchantment on his own but through something Sembene said to him Lingala then the Memories. Sembene is powerful we just don't understand why yet. My Lyle, he's a character who can be delightful in his ability to make people smile but he's lost his smile because he has a deal with an agent of Lucifer, Evelyn.
I have to wonder if there are two brothers why can't there be more potential Mothers of Evil? Lily said to Mr. Clare "How clever he's been, our creator. But our little god has brought
forth not angels but demons." Can ministers of Evil (as Mr. Lyle calls them) decline the job? If Vanessa declines Lily would be a great replacement given her capacity to use her erotic power over men. Just a thought.
I do think that Mr. Clare though starting as dead is more alive than Lily and Dorian are. Mr. Clare just doesn't know where to start living the life he wants where Dorian and Lily would make great natural born killers. I'm hoping that love of poetry saves Clare/Creature. If there is a team evil it would start with characters like Evelyn and her coven and Lily, Dorian, and Dracula. Team Good (not saying they always do good things) would be Vanessa, Ethan, Sembene, Victor, Malcom, and yes, Mr Lyle.
Can't wait for next week.

The Vanessa and now Lily reminds me of the 1997 movie "Fallen" with Denzel Washington. When a person is possessed they sing "Time is on your side". When Vanessa first shows signs of a resident entity she is the child who found her mother with Sir Malcolm. She is in the maze singing "The Unquiet Grave" and the camera shows her transition from child to woman while singing the song. We first saw Vanessa sing the song in the episode "Séance", again in "Closer than sisters". Evelyn sings the song in "Fresh Hell", and while making breakfast for Victor, Lily hums the song. I think that there is something off about Lily starting with the change in accents. Things are already tense with Victor when you can see him comment that Lily is embarrassing him by flirting with Dorian.
