  You put it exactly how I feel, especially this line: Yet as provocative as this show might be in its attempts to feel real, it doesn’t feel authentic for American teenagers. It’s as if British characters were suddenly dubbed with American accents. I couldn't put my finger on exactly what felt awkward. Anyway, watch the original, you'll see how it's supposed to be.
