Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 5 revolves around good intentions gone bad.

Danny is sick and tired of arresting murderers and wishes that just once he could prevent a violent crime before it happens. He and Baez discover a guy handing out missing persons' flyers and decide to take the case.

According to the man with the flyers, David, the missing woman is his sister. But when Danny and Baez track the woman down, it turns out that David is her ex-fiance who has been stalking her since she broke off their engagement. Danny wants to take her to the squad room to get her statement, but she disappears and he believes David is responsible.

Meanwhile, Anthony looks into whether a woman he sent to prison for murder could actually be innocent. The woman insists she is and is upset when Erin refuses to allow Anthony to continue with the case.

Elsewhere, Jamie and Eddie butt heads when Eddie allows her father to stay with them temporarily, but Jamie's distrust leads to a dangerous situation. And Frank finds himself in the middle of a delicate situation when a priest who believes in defunding police relies on them after his home is burglarized.

Garrett: So maybe some asymmetrical warfare levels the playing field.

Frank: You once told me that you had great respect for the boundaries between our two spheres. So don't tell me how to do my job.
Archbishop: I wouldn't dream of it. But you should ask yourself, which is more important to you: your office, or your faith?
