Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 2 revolves around Frank's decision not to make any endorsement in the Manhattan DA race.

When Frank makes this decision, Garett thinks it's wrong. Erin is his daughter and therefore he should endorse her. Frank refuses to treat Erin differently than any other candidate no matter how much Garrett insists.

Garrett tells Erin even though Frank didn't want her to have advance notice of his decision. Erin is too angry to confront Frank. Henry shows up and yells at him but Frank won't budge. Frank also won't be swayed by Garrett's "important but not urgent" story about Dukakis losing the 1988 Presidential debate on the first question.

Erin rants to Anthony, who thinks Frank always has an angle but doesn't know what it is this time. Later, Erin turns up in Frank's office. She's no longer angry and understands why he didn't endorse her.

Meanwhile, Jamie gets a new job in the intelligence unit, which means he is still at the 2-7 but also means he can't talk to Eddie or to anyone about the cases he's on, and Danny and Baez investigate an incident at a hotel that led to a bloody mattress.
