On Law & Order: SVU Season 17 Episode 6, an internationally acclaimed flutist is accused of rape after a concert. A violinist he works with claims he beat her and raped her, but he doesn't remember anything and believes he was drugged. Rollins is the only SVU team member who takes the flutist's side, but she drops it when she discovers that the woman who drugged him is her crazy sister Kim.

Rollins makes an attempt to handle the situation herself, telling no one but Fin and swearing him to secrecy, but Benson can tell something is up. Fin doesn't tell, and Amanda's attempt to bring Kim in goes nowhere. Benson confronts her and warns her she could get in trouble herself or lose her job. She does not want her near this case.

Mama Rollins is brought in and told to tell them where Kim is as Kim could be in danger from her pimp for the stunt she pulled. Kim is arrested and says she stabbed her pimp in self defense. Benson orders Rollins off the case.

Rollins only semi listens and stays to hear Kim's confession even though she is told to go home. At trial, Kim rejects a plea deal and Mama Rollins disowns Amanda for putting work over family and goes away. Amanda collapses from stress.
