On Law & Order: SVU, the detectives are called in after a young girl is found to have been assaulted and raped while drunk and high. The girl, Grace Walker, doesn't remember anything.

After she is released from the hospital, Carisi takes her home, but when a suspect is arrested, the girl is nowhere to be found. Grace's phone number is fake and it turns out that she doesn't live at the apartment she claimed to live in.

An investigation leads to a homeless shelter and a vet named Tommy who insists he is not Grace's boyfriend and is worried when he hears she was sexually assaulted. Later, the detectives find out Grace's real name is Sophie Simmons and she disappeared from Spence College three years ago. Stone is upset by this news because his sister once disappeared like that and lived on the streets with a junkie. He blames her parents, who are angry that the cops let her go after finding her.

Sophie is found, and Fin and Carisi catch Tommy beating her up. She doesn't want to press charges. She says there was no rape and she cheated on Tommy. She doesn't recognize a photo of herself or remember who her parents were, but when her dad comes in she recognizes him and asks what is she doing here?

A psychiatrist evaluates Sophie/Grace and determines she has Dissociative Fugue Disorder and that something traumatic must have happened. Stone suspects the father abused her. Benson has the idea of taking Sophie back to Spence College to trigger her memories.

It works and Sophie remembers a professor raping her on the couch when she went to his office hours to get help with her grades. She learns the professor has died and is enraged. She says Benson lied to her and there's no healing and runs away.

Later, Benson comes up with an idea to help Sophie begin to heal and Sophie gets a hug from her too.
