Law & Order: SVU Season 24 Episode 8 revolves around a killer who targets trans women, including the closeted daughter of a detective.

21-year-old Aiden McDaniels is angry when his dad and some other cops send a woman his way in a bar to celebrate his birthday. He goes home, saying he will only wear a suit if his dad brings it. But when his dad gets there, Aiden is dead.

SVU is called in because Aiden was also raped. They quickly discover the crime scene was messed with. McDaniels put a towel over Aiden and someone scrubbed Aiden clean of all DNA. Soon, the cops also discover that Aiden had gone into a bar dressed as a woman the night of the murder.

Aiden's friend Brian says Aiden came out to him as Ada and asked to be accepted but he got mad. He wishes he'd said he loved Aiden no matter what.

Aiden's parents, who are divorced, argue over Aiden/Ada's identity and McDaniels bristles at Benson suggesting he messed with the crime scene. Meanwhile, another trans woman is attacked but survives.

Muncy arrests a perp in an underground cellar despite Fin telling her to wait for backup. The perp is proven to have attacked Cora. McDaniels arrives and demands justice for Aiden as well. He is upset when the cops remind him there is no DNA because someone cleaned up the scene.

Cora's trial proceeds and the defense attorney is brutal. McDaniels is upset by what happened to her and realizes he was wrong not to accept his daughter and to clean up the scene so that no one would know she was trans.
