The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 5 continues to focus on Shaun's changing role in the hospital.

When Lim tells Shaun to stop micromanaging his residents, he goes in the complete opposite direction, with disastrous results. He ignores Asher's request that he double check his work and it turns out what seemed to be backache was an aortic aneurysm.

Asher's patient gets worse and worse. After the aneurysm is fixed, his liver begins to fail, and both Shaun and Asher blame themselves for thie man's condition because Asher missed diagnosing the aneurysm earlier.

Meanwhile, Claire, Park, and another resident work with a woman who has a cyst damaging her brain... and both a husband and a boyfriend. The situation quickly becomes complicated as her husband is jealous of her boyfriend, but must help her make medical decisions. And the woman needs surgery, but there's a chance that it will wipe out her memories of her affair with her boyfriend.

Finally, the crew deals with relationship issues as Park and Morgan move in together and resume teasing each other about their pasts and Shaun and Lea try to have a date night.
