Netflix will enter Orange is the New Black in the Comedy series this year, meaning Taylor Schilling's layered portrayal of Piper Chapman - at times hilarious, intense and heart-wrenching - should receive serious consideration.
2. Mindy Kaling
The Mindy Project kicked things up another humorous notch or 12 over the final few weeks of Season 2. And Kaling was obviously at the center of it.
3. Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler deserves more than a batch of waffles. She deserves recognition for anchoring what most consider the funniest show on television.
4. Amy Schumer
This is a slightly ambiguous category. Are we going for acting talent? Or the woman who makes us laugh the hardest? If it's the latter... come on down, Amy Schumer!

She's an obvious choice for a reason. Julia Louis-Dreyfus cursed her way toward The White House on Veep Season 3.
