David Tennant stars as Detective Emmett Carver on Gracepoint. Carver has just arrived in town having accepted an important position at the police force.

That very same position had been promised to Detective Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn). Ellie is willing to let bygones be bygones and solve the case with her new boss. Will the two ever get along?

Detectives Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn) and Emmett Carver (David Tennant) arrive at the scene of the crime on FOX's 10-part mystery series Gracepoint.

Beth Solano (Virginia Kull) arrives at the scene of the crime and has a terrible feeling the tragedy will hit close to home.

Beth Solano spots something familiar on the beach and begins to panic. Detectives Carver and Miller are forced to restrain her.

Detectives Carver and Miller interview Jack Reinhold (played by Nick Nolte). Reinhold is a man with ties to the victim who runs the local wildlife observation program.

Jack Reinhold (Nick Nolte), is a private gentleman who runs the beach's kayak rental service. The victim, Danny Solano, volunteered in Reinhold's wildlife observation program.

Though Jack Reinhold is definitely a suspect, Detectives Carver and Miller will interview many locals who knew the victim. Ellie, a longtime friend of the Solano family has promised them closure and justice.

Once the victim has been identified, Beth (Virginia Kull) and Mark Solano (Michael Peña) receive the tragic news.

Young Danny is survived by his grieving parents, Mark (Michael Peña) and Beth Solano (Virginia Kull), his older sister, Chloe (Madalyn Horcher) and grandmother (Linda Darlow).

Mark (Michael Peña) is understandably devastated by the loss of his only son. The family is relying on Detectives Miller and Carver to bring his killer to justice. Everyone is a suspect.
