50 Best Scenes from The 100 Season 5

37. Everyone Showing Up To Throw Clarke a Bellamy Intervention

This episode and as a result of it, this specific scene was conflicting because of how messy the season itself was. But if you pick apart this scene, you can what it was meant to be at its core. The focus on Clarke's emotional state in the second half of the season was lackluster at best, and yet this scene that was dedicated to three separate people calling Clarke out on the mistake that she made leaving the person she waited six years for had the potential to strike the audience more. Even just considering who was chosen to host this intervention for her speaks volumes, so this scene does deserve to at least be mentioned because it had hints of something really valuable to the narrative.

38. Emori and Harper's Natural Friendship Progression

Telling the audience that the space group was family now is one thing, showing it is another thing altogether. Emori and Harper finding a second to just talk as if they did a thousand times before was one of the few examples that stand out where it felt like the two truly created a bond during the time jump,

39. Bellamy Laying It All On The Line For Clarke

The expectations for Bellamy and Clarke's reunion were very high, to say the least, and the show didn't disappoint with the way that it pushed how much Bellamy was affected by losing Clarke throughout the episode. This all came together when he returned to Earth to threaten to kill 300 people if Charmaine didn't let go of Clarke. It is probably safe to say that those two words and the entire cinematography behind this scene made it one of the most iconic on The 100.

40. Madi and Clarke Being Adorable

This reunion was the best one on those desert grounds and we all know it.

41. When Clarke's Love For Madi Was Everything

A small sneak peek into Clarke and Madi's time together in the past six years was only solidified by these emotional moments that made us feel more than any real words shared between the two could.

42. Slytherin Clarke Mode Activated

Don't mess with Madi or else. Clarke effortlessly transitioned from being totally okay with everything to willing to destroy everything in her path to make sure Madi was okay. That kind of shift wasn't only based on facial expressions too, it was the way the scene managed to release the now cool energy in that bunker and how little patience Clarke had for Octavia. It was very well done, acting wise and in the way, it reflected the mixed relationships now forming with people reunited again.

43. Monty Speaking The Actual Truth

Ever since the bunker focused episode, it was clear that Octavia was the threat for humanity and for the people trying to change the cycle of destruction around her. Monty voiced exactly that when Bellamy and Clarke tried to reason why killing Kara was necessary when it was obvious that if Octavia wasn't in charge none of this would be happening. Trust in Monty is a motto that every character on The 100 deserved to follow.

44. Harper's Last Words

Losing Harper is still hard to come to terms with, there are truly no words for a character who deserved so much. There was a lot of frustration over Harper not playing a bigger role when it was clear that she wasn't going to make it to the new planet, and yet that is why her last words are so important. Jordan is now an extension of Monty and Harper, specifically our love for those characters, which means he must be protected and loved to honor them.

45. Emori Having All The Strengths

Absolutely no one was shocked that Emori is amazing, skilled, and destined for greatness. But finding a moment within the show to confirm that was well appreciated and a highlight for a character that we deserved to see even more of.

46. Octavia Rightfully Stripping Herself Of Her Power

Octavia leading was never a good idea, in fact, her consistently fighting leaders that came before her because she disagreed with the difficult choices that they made was direct foreshadowing for what she would then face herself. So while the idea of leaders being chosen based on someone's blood and the ability to accept an overused Flame in their head isn't ideal, Octavia realizing that she needs to give up was a bigger step than anyone could have anticipated when she was first reintroduced in that bunker.

47. Murphy Throwing The First Stone

Murphy was meant to start a fire but instead, he threw a stone. The 100 isn't meant to be funny but sometimes these moments just appear out of nowhere.

48. Niylah and Octavia Being All Romantic

This was a small look into a possibly much bigger story, but Niylah's adoring Octavia with everything in her was a nice distraction. In a way, Niylah forgiving and trusting Octavia even at times when that creates more chaos is a strangely fascinating way to comment on both the structure of Wonkru and the deeper feelings that she started to display for Octavia along the way. The subtle hints at romance between Octavia and Niylah deserve to keep coming even on the new planet.

49. What Octavia Could Have Been

Octavia was structured as the villain for The 100 Season 5 for eleven episodes straight, her addiction to power was influencing every choice she was making even if it hurt everyone around her. Getting to see her at possibly one of the darkest moments yet was fascinating and promising since for a while it felt like the narrative would never identify Octavia as the villain in the story.

50. Charmaine and Kane's Discover Hope

It is almost ironic looking back at Charmaine and Kane planning for a future on Earth when in a few days time all of that would be up in flames. Yet in a way this could be a self-deprecating look at us, we all wanted to believe there could be hope for change and that all became the same old cycle. Maybe this time Monty's words will be carried forward and actually force change.
