Maksim Chmerkovskiy is a professional Latin dancing champion. And not too hard on the eyes.
Chmerkovskiy was born in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic of the former USSR. He began dancing when he was just four years old. In his native country, Maksim was one of the leading junior couples in ballroom dancing; his family immigrated to the United States in 1994.
Chmerkovskiy's best showing on Dancing with the Stars was when he finished second - with partner Melanie Brown - on season five. He teamed with Misty May-Treanor on season seven of the show, Denise Richards on season eight and Debi Mazar on season nine.
On New Year's Eve 2008, this dancer got engaged to Karina Smirnoff.
