The Affair Season 2 Trailer: Truth or Fiction?

at .

Taking a look at the long, detailed trailer for The Affair Season 2 gives the impression nobody really comes out ahead as a result Noah and Alison's affair.

It's almost impossible to imagine what we're seeing and how it will piece together, because as we learned in The Affair Season 1, the series does a number on us with the timeline. When did each scene we're seeing happen?

We can rest assured that Scotty was alive before Noah was arrested and guess Alison jumps into Cole's arms (judging by the surprised look on his face), while Noah is detained for the crime vehicular homicide.

One of the best scenes in the trailer is the last, when a visibly distraught Alison rings Helen's doorbell, and Helen answers it with a rather smug smile.

The other thing we never know is what is real and what is a figment of someone's imagination. Adding to the fact we have four adults from whose views we may be pulling information, we also have Noah's book to contend with. Someone already asks him how much of that is fact or fiction. I'm betting it's following his real life more closely than he anticipated.

We'll be tuning in on Oct. 4 for the premiere to see (presumably) Noah's arrest and what happens next. Will you?

Det; Jeffries: But.
Noah: That's just it. There is no but. When I look back, I can't tell you why it happened.

Helen: Twelve years.
