Saturday Night Live Close to Confirming Women of Comedy Special

Following an impressive run that has seen her star in The Proposal and a Super Bowl commercial for Snickers, Betty White has been the subject of an intense Internet campaign to get the former Golden Girls star as a host of Saturday Night Live.

It now appears as though over 330,000 Facebook users will get their wish.

Without confirming the special, an NBC spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly that the show is close to booking a "Women of Comedy" event that would team White with Molly Shannon, Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) on stage.

This uniquee hosting move would ensure the 88-year old White doesn't need to carry the program on her own, while pretty much guaranteeing us another Fey-as-Sarah Palin skit. Sounds like a win-win situation all around, doesn't it?
