The end of Entourage is approaching. As a TV series, at least.

At yesterday's Television Critics Association panel, HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo confirmed rumors that season eight would be the final run for Vince and company on HBO.

"The plan right now is we'll finish up this season. We'll do a shorter order for next season — we've talked about six [episodes]," he said. "[Creator Doug Ellin]... wants to write a film, but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story.... Next summer will definitely be the final season of Entourage."

An Entourage movie has been planned for years now, with producer Mark Wahlberg the latest member of the crew to sound off on its strong likelihood.

Let's hope the big screen version of the series delivers storylines with a lot more at stake than the lazy last couple seasons of the show itself.
