Awkward Season 3: Picked Up! Super-Sized!

Things will get extra Awkward on MTV next summer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has picked up this critically-beloved comedy for a third season, announcing an extended order of 20 episodes for Ashley Rickards and company.

"Lauren Iungerich’s creative vision, coupled with this extraordinarily talented cast, make Awkward the perfect series for MTV,” head of programming David Janollari said in a statement. “Critics and our audience alike have fallen in love with Awkward, and we’re thrilled to bring this terrific series back for a third, supersized season.”

MTV made a similar move with another hit series this summer: Teen Wolf Season 3 will air in 2013 and feature 24 episodes.
