First, Rambo. Now, 12 Monkeys.

Syfy has given the green light to a pilot based on the 1995 film 12 Monkeys, which earned Brad Pitt an Academy Award nomination and which will focus on the journey of a man from the future who goes back in time to prevent a deadly virus from eradicating mankind.

Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (Terra Nova) penned the 60-minute premiere, with filming scheduled to begin in November.
