TV Ratings Report: Scandal Soars, TVD Drops

It was a great night for be a political fixer on television Thursday.

But less great to be a member of the undead.

Scandal Season 3 opened with a series high for that ABC drama, as 10.5 million viewers tuned in, while Olivia Pope and her associated pulled a 3.6 rating among 18-49-year olds.

The Originals, conversely, only drew a .9 in the same demographic, which marked a 25 percent drop from Beauty and the Beast in the same timeslot a year ago. The Vampire Diaries was also down 25 percent last October's opener. Here is a full ratings rundown from a very busy evening of new television...
