ABC has assured viewers of plenty more naked shenanigans in the summer of 2015.
It announced today that Mistresses will return for a third season next year.
The Mistresses Season 2 finale aired on Labor Day and garnered 3.5 million total viewers, along a 0.8 rating among 18-49-year old, falling a tenth in that demographic from the previous week and also dropping 10 and 27 percent, respectively, from the Mistresses Season 1 finale.
Fans were therefore on edge about a renewal.
Executive producer K.J. Steinberg told TV Line in August his and his team penned the finale with another run of episode in mind.
We “would never have written [the Season 2 finale] to be an ending to the series," he said. "We architected it for a Season 3. And we have hope that we will get one so we can continue to tell these stories and play out these dramas."
Season 3 will consist of 13 episodes.
