You never quite know what you're going to get from a spin-off, especially from a show as big as The Walking Dead.

But when AMC launched Fear The Walking Dead Season 1 earlier this year, it did the unexpected and gave us a show with not only a different location (Los Angeles) and a new cast of characters but also a time back when the virus was just beginning on the West Coast.

And it was damn good.

Yes, the series, which stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Mercedes Mason and Frank Dillane, exists in the same universe but as the first of six episodes begin, we're at a calmer state of normal. The characters talk about knowing there's some kind of flu taking hold on the East Coast of the United States but they don't know what's coming...but they figure it out pretty darn quick.

The show intentionally does not give us an exact timeline as to when the action starts compared to it's parent show but one of the plusses of this series is seeing how the normal quickly changes to chaos.

The first season of Fear The Walking Dead is out today on Blu-ray and DVD and we've got two copies of the Blu-ray to give away to you! Besides the first season episodes, bonus features include a look at the series and a featurette called, "Inside the Characters of Fear The Walking Dead."
