Fox Renews Last Man on Earth and Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Carissa Pavlica at .Last Man on Earth and Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be returning to Fox for the 2016-17 season.
“We’re so proud of these comedies,” said Fox Entertainment president David Madden. “Each has its own unique voice, but they both boast terrific ensembles with stand-out characters and, of course, phenomenal writing, which are the hallmarks of all great comedies.”
They were the first of the half hour series picked up for the new season by Fox. But what about those that remains?
It's believed that Zooey Deschenal will be returning to New Girl, and the expectation the series will be a part of the Fox lineup for a sixth season.
Of the freshman series, both Grandfathered and The Grinder have performed relatively well in the ratings, with Grandfathered the stronger of the two and expected to pull off a second season. The Grinder is currently considered a long shot for renewal.
Neither Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life nor Bordertown are expected to be renewed.
