Lea Michele Shares Flashback Photo, Pays Tribute to Glee

Lea Michele sang a sentimental tune on Instagram this week.

Seven years after she and the original Glee cast first sang around the halls of William McKinley High School, the actress shared a throwback photo from one of their first days on set.

Michele wrote the following as a caption to the image:

“7 years ago. It’s unbelievable how quickly time can go by...

"To think we aired 7 years ago today.. Found this photo from our Upfronts trip to NYC just days before the premiere. We were all so excited.

"We went around the table and each said something we loved about each other.. No matter where we all are now.. I will always think back to this night.”

Glee, of course, was an absolute sensation when it premiered.

It made a legitimate star out of Michele and it introduced the world to creator Ryan Murphy.

He has gone on to produce such hits as American Horror Story, Scream Queens, and, most recently, American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.

Tragedy then struck the series in July of 2013 when Cory Monteith died of a drug overdose.

He's included in the above photo, however, along with Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer and other faces very familiar to fans of the musical comedy.

Glee aired its final episode on March 20, 2015.

By that time, it had lost its cultural influence and most of its ratings, but its impact undoubtedly remains across the television landscape.

Since the show's conclusion, Fox has continued to showcase music as a part of its programming with Empire, as well as its newly announced series, Star.

To this day, it's not an understatement to say that the cast's rendition of "Don’t Stop Believin" was one of the most memorable TV moments in recent memory.

Many stars have since gone on to other programs and jobs, but all will forever be best remembered for their roles on Glee.

We have a feeling they wouldn't want it any other way.
