Chad and Abby’s romance heated up, Chloe and Nicole fought over Holly, and Eric tried to save Hope’s life on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Silver Fox from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum. to debate Eric’s romantic prospects, Jade’s recast, if Adrienne should hire Anne, and more from the happenings in Salem. 

Chad and Abigail are back together. From 1 (boring) to 10 (a great love story), rate their romance.

Jack: About a 4. I liked Chad/Abby the first time but there's been no buildup this time, they went from Chad being ambivalent, to him wanting to be with Abby in a blink of an eye so to me it's just, meh.

Christine: I agree with Jack. I was a fan of these two the last time around, but Chad’s budding romance with Gabi really took the fun out of Abby’s return. And now the chemistry between these two is minimal. I’ll give them a 5, but that’s being generous. 

Silver Fox: I’m so hungry for romance on this show, that I’m giving them a 10 even though they don’t deserve it.

Who do you think would make the best romantic partner for Eric: Hope, Nicole, Jennifer, someone else in Salem?

Jack: I have always, always, always wanted to see Eric and Eve give each other a try, if Eve ever lands in Salem for more than a day again.

Christine: I’d never even thought about Eric and Eve. I liked Nicole and Eric together when he wasn't being judgmental but that wasn’t very often. Maybe if Nicole ditches Deimos and Eric quits brooding, these two might get another chance. 

Silver Fox: I liked Eric and Jennifer together. They were an unexpected pairing and got together when each of them was at their lowest point. They were honest and real. I’d like to see the show revisit the couple and explore their potential.

Are you happy that they recast the actress who plays Jade?

Jack: I'm pretty neutral on this. I liked the original actress but I understand she didn't want to make the commitment to a contract with DAYS and this new actress is just as competent.

Christine: Ugh. The previous actress was one of the more talented of this really lame teen scene. The new Jade is doing okay, but it’s not like the rest of this gang is setting the bar very high. 

Silver Fox: No. Recasts are always jarring, more so when they change the character’s personality along with the actor. I don’t think she or any of the teens add much, except for Theo.

Do you think Adrienne should hire Anne?

Jack: I kind of don't understand why she would, given Anne and Jen's history, but the drama/comedy element might be fun if she does.

Christine: After the way Anne treated Jennifer, it makes no sense…but I still really hope it happens. Anne would bring a sense of fun and we desperately need that in Salem right now. 

Silver Fox: Yes! Yes! Yes! I love Anne. She’s a unique and refreshing change of pace, and such a relief from the drama.

What was the most disappointing storyline this week in Salem?

Jack: This Prague nonsense. Rafe did nothing but throw tantrums and he and Steve fought about whether or not to go out for ice cream... really? And haven't we had enough annoying fortune tellers/visionaries recently?

Christine: That Hope would be dreaming about Rafe and not Bo on her death bed. That was just all kinds of wrong. 

Silver Fox: All things Nicole. She stabbed a man. She is letting Deimos control her. She wants to see Chloe behind bars. Who is this woman? Second most disappointing was Abigail resorting to using sex instead of brains to try and get poor Myron to give her info on Orwell.

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from the week?

Jack: I really liked seeing Adrienne be so strong and determined not to let cancer ruin her life, and I am also enjoying her friendship with Kate.

Christine: I loved how strong the friendship was between Brady and Nicole. When he told her, “I didn’t know how many times someone could have their heart ripped out of their chest, Nic.” it made my heart hurt for both of them. 

Silver Fox: I liked the brief scene between Abigail and Chad after she tried to hoodwink Myron. There was a spark of real romance.
