TV Ratings Report: Taken Disappoints

at .  Updated at .

NBC thought making a prequel of a widly successful movie series would be a slam dunk success, but they could not have been more wrong.

NBC: The Voice (13 million/3.1 rating) returned down slightly vs. last February's season premiere. Taken (7.4 million/1.4 rating) launched below Timeless in the ratings.

The half hour drop has got to be a little worrying. It went from a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 to a 1.4 rating. Given that the series is being bolstered by The Voice, would it be able to survive on its own?

I vote no. Maybe NBC should never have moved The Blacklist to try and launch a new hit a few years back.

ABC: The Bachelor (7.7 million/2.4 rating) was strong, but miniseries, When We Rise (2.9 million/0.7 rating) launched with terrible numbers. Will ABC air the whole thing?

CBS: It was an encore of The Big Bang Theory (7.4 million/1.3 rating) and originals of Man with a Plan (6.6 million/1.2 rating), Superior Donuts (6.4 million/1.2 rating), 2 Broke Girls (5.7 million/1.2 rating) and Scorpion (6.8 million/1.1 rating).

The CW: Supergirl (2.2 million/0.7 rating) was stable, but Jane the Virgin (1 million/0.3 rating) matched a series low.

Fox: 24: Legacy (4 million/1.0 rating) and APB (3.4 million/0.8 rating) continued to bleed viewers, but stabilized in the demo.
