Teen Wolf: Return Date Revealed!

at .

It's been a long and eventful road, but Teen Wolf is officially coming to a close at MTV after six seasons.

The news was revealed at last year's Comic-Con panel for the supernatural drama. Teen Wolf Season 6 premiered in November and went on hiatus after Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 10.

The Final Showdown - Teen Wolf

That episode aired on January 31, and there has been no word on when the series will return to unspool the rest of the final season ... until now.

According to Variety, the once hot series will be shunned to Sunday nights at 8/7c, and it will debut July 31.

It's certainly a shocker the series is moving to a new night, but if it means we get to see the final episodes sooner, it's actually a good thing.

At one point, Teen Wolf was one of MTV's highest-rated shows, but it's slowly fallen apart over the last few years.

The first 10 episodes of Teen Wolf Season 6 averaged just 0.5 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.

That was down over fifty percent vs. the Teen Wolf Season 5 average.

Fans have reacted negatively to many actors departing the series over the last few years, so that could be part of the reason why the ratings are flatlining.

Much of Teen Wolf Season 6 has focused on the characters trying to find Stiles, and bring him back from the brink of destruction.

Regardless of whether Teen Wolf was fairing much better, it seems like the network is departing the scripted market in favor of more reality formats.

The network previously renewed The Shannara Chronicles after it achieved decent ratings for Season 1.

However, it was recently announced the series was moving to fellow Viacom-owned network Spike TV.

Meanwhile, Scream clinched a last-minute renewal despite averaging 0.4 million viewers and a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49.

A New Enemy - Teen Wolf

The series is being rebooted with a more diverse cast and will return for a six-episode season later this year.

Something tells us that could ultimately wind up on Spike TV.

Teen Wolf Quotes

I have a son. His name is Mieczyslaw Stilinski, but we call him Stiles. I remember. When Stiles was a little kid, he couldn't say his first name. I'm not sure why, it pretty much rolls off the tongue, but the closest he could was mischief. His mother called him that until...I remember when Stiles first got his jeep. It belonged to his mother. She wanted him to have it. The first time he took a spin behind the wheel, he went straight into a ditch. I gave him his first roll of duct tape that day. He was always getting into trouble, but he always had a good heart, always. We're here tonight because my goofball son because he decided to drag Scott, his greatest friend in the world, into the woods to see a dead body.

Noah

Malia: Alright. I'll ask. Who's Kate Argent?
Kira: [raising hand] Uh, I'd like to know, too.
Stiles: Well, we were at her funeral, so I'd like to know how she got out from a casket buried six feet under ground.
