The story is not over for Tandy and Tyrone.
Freeform has confirmed that Cloak and Dagger has been renewed for a second season consisting of ten episodes and that it is slated to return in 2019.
The series stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph as Cloak and Dagger, respectively. It focuses on two teenagers from different backgrounds who realize they have powers and a big connection.
While forming a romantic relationship, they realize that the powers given to them work better when they are together.
Cloak and Dagger debuted in June and was an instant success for the young-skewing network.
Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 1 secured 4.4 million total viewers in live plus 35 ratings, meaning the show is getting a substantial life in delayed viewing.
In live plus same day metrics for the same episode, it secured 0.9 million viewers and a 0.3 rating. Through eight episodes, it is averaging 0.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.
Despite the show being on Freeform, it has not stopped the references to the larger Marvel universe coming to the forefront.
On Marvel's Cloak and Dagger Season 1 Episode 8, Detective Brigid O'Reilly (Emma Lahana) opened up about more of her past.
In a blink and you'll miss it moment, she said: "Have I ever told you about Misty?"
Misty Knight first appeared on Marvel's Luke Cage but has also appeared on The Defenders and will have an appearance on Luke Cage Season 2, which is slated to debut September 7th on Netflix.
