Game of Thrones may be gearing up to air its final season in a few months, but all eyes are on the prequel series that is currently in the works at HBO.

The potential series which has landed a pilot order at the premium cabler has added eight more actors to its ranks ahead of filming commencing.

Toby Regbo Arrives at Event

Toby Regbo (Reign), Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans) and Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia films) have all been set as series regulars, reports THR

Also joining the cast are: Naomi Ackie (the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX), Denise Gough (The Fall), Jamie Campbell Bower (Will), Sheila Atim (Harlots) and Alex Sharp (Broadway’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time).

They join Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse on the series which is slated to take place a long time before Game of Thrones.

As is typically the case with such a high-profile project, no details about who the latest additions to the cast will be playing, but we will likely get some more insight down the line.

In fact, very little is actually known about the series aside.

According to the official logline, “the series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour."

"And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”

Josh Whitehouse

While HBO is keeping quiet about it, George R.R. Martin did open up about the project several months ago on his blog.

“None of the characters or actors from Game of Thrones will appear in the new show," Martin shared in June, adding:

"All of the successor shows we’ve been developing have been prequels, as I have mentioned before." "This one really puts the pre in prequel, since it is set not ninety years before Game of Thrones (like Dunk & Egg), or a few hundred years, but rather ten thousand years (well, assuming the oral histories of the First Men are accurate, but there are maesters at the Citadel who insist it has only been half that long)," he continued. "We’re very early in the process, of course, with the pilot order just in.”

Game of Thrones Quotes

Tis a big and beautiful world. Most of us live and die in the same corner where we were born and never get to see any of it. I don't want to be most of us.

It's only wine.
