Bill Townsend is Maddie's ex-husband and the father of Tyler, Kyle, and Katie. Bill also got his mistress Noreen Fitzgibbons pregnant, with whom he shares his youngest daughter, Rebecca.

At the end of Season 2, it was also revealed that he and Peggy Martin were Issac's birth parents.

Bill has difficulty connecting with his children. He is a doctor at Serenity Family Physicians.
