Erik Whitley is the sous chef and pastry chef at Sullivan's. His desserts are legendary, especially his brownies and cinnamon ice cream. Eric was an EMT before becoming a chef, and he was very helpful when Dana Sue fainted and was diagnosed with diabetes.

Erik lost his wife and baby in childbirth, so he hesitated to fall in love again, especially with Helen, who wanted kids so helplessly. But he took the leap of faith.

 Helen's ex, Ryan, returned in the Season 2 finale, leaving their relationship uncertain.
