Frank gets blindsided in an interview by the new district attorney Robert McCoy. Frank is even more upset when he finds out that Erin and McCoy are dating. Erin sees both sides of their argument and basically tells them both off. Eventually McCoy apologizes via a statement to the press but Frank might never like him dating Erin.

Danny's new boss, Lt. Carver goes on a ride along with him. Danny doesn't take it well and the two clash over the way they each do the job. During the investigation into a murder at a drive-by shooting, a baby is left oprhaned. Danny is surprised when Lt. Carver seems to consider adopting the child when no other family members can be found.

Jamie and Eddie get called to the apparent suicide of Rose Davis. When Rose's grandmother suspects murder, Jamie and Eddie investigate when the detective on the case is overwhelmed with other homicides. It turns out that Rose was raped by her boss and he killed her and staged the suicide when he feared she would turn him in.
Elsewhere, Eddie's boyfriend breaks up with her via text message.
