Vogel asks Dexter to leave her son alone. As he and Hannah plan to leave Miami, he contemplates honoring Dr. Vogel's request but ultimately decides he needs to kill Daniel in order to protect Dr. Vogel. 

Debra comes to terms with Dexter's plan to leave Miami and returns to Miami Metro. After an accident, Hannah takes Harrison to the emergency room where she's seen by a nurse who calls the U.S. Marshalls.

After realizing Daniel cannot be helped, Vogel agrees to help Dexter trap Daniel so that Dexter can kill him. Dexter's hesitation in choosing whom to protect proves costly.
