Lester goes to Lou's for dinner to cover for his whereabouts during his wife's murder and calls the cops from a pay phone. Molly questions him, but lets him go home with the FBI watching over him.

Lorne pretends to be an FBI agent and calls off the back up support. He then gets a car that looks like an "FBI vehicle" and follows Lester home. He kills the agents and gets into Lester's home, but is caught off-guard by a trap Lester set. His leg gets caught in an animal trap. Lester's gun jams which prevents him from killing Lorne.

Gus sees Lorne's red car and sneaks around the cabin. When Lorne leaves Gus hides in the cabin. When the injured Lorne returns from Lester's house, Gus shoots and kills him. The cops move in and Molly hears a recording of Lester telling Lorne he killed his wife. 

Lester goes on the run and is pursued in Montana. He runs across the ice and falls in to his death.

Molly becomes Chief, Gus gets a Citation of Bravery, and they are happy together.
