Recap

In Hell, Shax goes to Furfur, now assigned to Requisitions to have him issue ten thousand demons for her siege of Aziraphale’s bookshop. He laughs.

In London, Aziraphale has a clipboard and a checklist and begins his rounds in the neighborhood to drum up attendance for the Whickber Street Traders and Shopkeepers’ monthly meeting.

He coerces members to attend by offering unique books in his shop he knows they’ll do anything to look at. Crowley’s quite surprised and a little impressed.

In Hell, Shax’s demands have lessened to a thousand. Furfur is still not taking her seriously. He eventually gets her seventy.

Aziraphale continues his visits. Crowley tries on a fez.

Shax addresses her demons, but it’s not well-received.

In London, Aziraphale’s French is not good. He invites Nina who accepts. As he moves on, she asks Crowley about their relationship. He’s a little stunned.

Shax zaps one of her demons when he tells her the transporter is out of service. She decides they’ll take the stairs.

Aziraphale finds Crowley hanging out at the French restaurant, uncomfortable with waiting in the bookshop because he worries that Gabriel’s memory will return and he’ll smite Crowley. Aziraphale suggests he go talk to Gabriel.

Nina’s partner texts that she’s leaving her.

Crowley berates Jim/Gabriel until he’s certain the angel isn’t faking it. He interrogates him about what he remembers. He remembers that his memory was in a matchbox until he took it out and put it in the box he brought to the bookshop.

In Heaven, Michael and Uriel question Muriel about what she’s learned. Which isn’t much.

Crowley finds Aziraphale rearranging the shop for the meeting. Aziraphale sends Crowley out to make sure Maggie and Nina are coming.

When he gets to Nina’s coffee shop, she tells Crowley she’s not coming to the meeting because she’s just been dumped. He feels something happening and warns her she won’t be safe at home and should go to the bookshop.

When Nina enters the shop, her clothes have changed.

Outside, Crowley heads off a herd of demons who are about to attack Maggie.

Everyone in attendance at the meeting has been enchanted to speak and interact as if it were a Jane Austen ball. Mrs. Sandwich, the brothel madame, cannot state her profession. Instead she says the word “seamstress” when asked what she does for a living.

Maggie invites Nina to dance. Nina realizes that what they’re doing is strange but cannot resist it anymore than Maggie.

Aziraphale is delighted with how things are going and won’t listen to Crowley who is trying to warn him. Instead, he wants Crowley to dance with him.

Outside, Shax’s forces are amassed outside the bookshop. She arrives by transporter.

In the party, the ensemble is playing Buddy Holly’s “Everyday” while everyone dances. Crowley tries to convince Aziraphale to give up Gabriel. Aziraphale assures him that they are not in danger. Just then a piece of paving stone is thrown through the window. Someone’s written “Surrender the ANGLE” on it.

Shax gives them a minute to hand over Gabriel before the demons are unleashed on the humans.

Jim steps forward and tries to surrender himself. Shax doesn’t recognize him and sends him back into the shop.

Crowley steps up and reminds them that they’re in contravention of the Rules of Engagement that say they must have time to evacuate the civilians. Shax relents and gives them time to get the humans out of the shop and out of danger.

Mr. Brown decides to speak to Shax himself. One of the demons reaches through the open door and throws him headfirst through the crowd.

Crowley organizes the rest of the guests in pairs and instructs them how to get through the crowd. Then he heads back to the shop.

As the guests head back to their shops, Crowley notices Muriel waiting at a street stand. He addresses her and tells her he needs to report a crime.

She admits she’s not a real police person. Crowley tells her he knows she’s an angel and he has knowledge of a crime against heaven.

He insists she take him to Heaven. She calls the transporters.
