Callie strives to recover as quickly as possible from her car accident so that she can care for her baby girl.  Eventually, she is given approval to take Sofia home.  

Alex decides to fly in African children who need surgery in an attempt to get the chief resident position.  He ultimately convinces an unruly patient to give him the necessary funds for his project. 

Additionally, Meredith secretly switches documents to insure that Adele Webber receives the Alzheimer’s medication instead of the placebo after Adele is admitted into Derek’s trial.  April and Dr. Stark continue to be awkward with one another.  Meanwhile, Teddy bonds with Henry over her bad dates but ends up finally going on a good date with none other than Dr. Perkins.
