Nick and Hank are faced with a strange situation as they investigate the mauling death of a school janitor. The janitor was not liked, and it was suspected that he had something to do with the racist bullying of a young Native American student who later dropped out. The situation grows more complicated when a second body is discovered, mauled exactly like the first, in a brutal animalistic fashion. They join forces with Sheriff's Deputy Janelle Farris, who worked with them on a previous case, in order to make sense of what is going on and how it is linked to the cold case death of the young man's father. Meanwhile, Juliette is in a downward spiral as she intentionally causes a confrontation and assaults a man who was flirting with her at a bar, even woging in public. She is thrown in jail, much to the dismay of Nick. But when he visits her, she rejects him once again, saying everything she can to hurt and insult him. Monroe and Rosalee decide to perform their own investigation into Juliette's situation, not trusting Henrietta's claim that there was nothing to be done for Juliette.
