We begin with a history lesson.

172 years before Daenerys Targeryen, Viserys I is announced as the heir to the throne, despite his cousin Princess Rhaenyss having a stronger claim.

In the present, we see Princess Rhaenyra getting off her dragon and Ser Harrold happy about her returning home safely.

Alicent is waiting, and she and her friend chat. Rhaenyra offers to take her on the dragon, but she's happier as a spectator.

Rhaenyra visits her pregnant mother, who is struggling with labor pains.

Viserys wants a son from Aemma so that he can have an heir.

Daemon shows up, sitting on the throne and makes comments to Rhaenyra that he wants to be on the throne.

At a joust to welcome the new boy into the family, Viserys rushes to his wife's side.

She's in danger of losing the baby and everyone holds her down to cut the baby out.

They both die and have a funeral fit for a Targaryen.

Determined to restore order, Daemon wants the townsfolk to be threatened by the color gold, so he attacks the people of King's Landing.

This does not go down well.

Viserys says that he will make Rhaenyra heir to the throne and she's thrust into a world she didn't know she would ever have.

Daemon is pissed about it and is expelled back to be with his wife, but he steals a dragon egg, gets on his dragon with a woman and makes his exit.

Viserys is struggling with his condition because it looks like the throne is cutting him.
