Law & Order: SVU Season 18 Episode 19 is about a young woman named Anne who is part of a fundamentalist Christian group. Anne and her friend Lydia are very affectionate with one another, and soon after they hang out in New York City, Anne is raped. The police quickly find out that the rapist is another member of the group, a young man named Lucas. However, Lucas claims that it was God's will that he rape Anne in order to deter her from the sin of homosexuality.

Anne is at first reluctant to accuse Lucas of rape but eventually Olivia convinces her that what was done to her is wrong. Lucas is arrested but plans to use a religious freedom defense. His attorney tries with no luck to get the case dismissed on this basis.

The trial begins, with one side claiming a religious belief in corrective intercourse and the other claiming that rape is rape. The defense suddenly introduces new evidence that could hurt Barba's case, but Olivia does some more investigation and comes up with something that can get justice for Anne.
