Recap

Soaking in her pool, Lisey Landon remembers her life with her deceased husband Scott, a famous novelist. She recalls when he was shot while dedicating the Shipman Library in Tennessee.

Lisey gets a call from her older sister Amanda. Amanda shatters a teacup while relating how her former lover Charlie got married. A concerned Lisey calls her other sister Darla. Professor Dashmiel, from Shipman, stops by to try again to convince Lisey to donate Scott's papers to his library.

Remembering his behavior on that horrible day, she refuses. Amanda cuts herself with the broken shards of teacup. Darla arrives to find Amanda is burning food on the stove and Amanda catatonic. Darla thinks Amanda flushed her meds.

Lisey stays with Amanda. Amanda remembers when Scott helped her previously by vomiting pool water from Booya Moon into her mouth. Dashmiel calls Jim Dooley, a Landon acolyte, about applying his pressure to Lisey. Amanda tells Lisey that Scott wants her to go on a Bool hunt. Lisey flashes back to her wedding day.

Scott appears in her dream and tells her she needs to follow the clues he left and get her prize. She gets a clue "Mr. M.D. Bool" and wakes to discover Amanda missing.

She finds her sitting in an empty tub. Dooley frightens a librarian with his rant about his idol Scott Landon. Thinking on the clue, Lisey discovers the name of Dr. Hugh Alberness in Amanda's address book.

She calls Alberness, who is a specialist Scott arranged for to treat Amanda at his institute. Lisey remembered Scott saying he has visions.

Dooley calls Lisey to threaten her about Scott's papers. She tells him to go fuck himself. A miniature lighthouse springs to life in Scott's study. After he was shot, Scott mentioned a "long boy" to Lisey.
