A monitoring device is fitted around CIA Director Munsey's ankle. He has no access to any communication device but will appear as though everything is normal, even though he will be under constant supervision. President Dalton, Chief of Staff Jackson and Elizabeth meet. They decide the next course of action is to identify who the replacement leader is. Elizabeth brings her team up-to-speed on everything, from Marsh's plane crash being intentional to the planned Iranian coup. They help identify the alleged replacement leader, Jafer Allinejad. Dalton orders Elizabeth and Jackson to vet him. He appears to be the kind of leader the US would want, but Elizabeth senses his health is poor. She is right. Allinejad is dying from brain cancer with only two months to live. She tells Munsey that his savior would die soon after the coup, but he doesn't believe her. He manages to make a secret call and tells Juliet that Tamerline is a go. Meanwhile Elizabeth heads to Iran on a secret mission to warn officials of the immienent coup. What is Tamerline?
