Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 7 centers on the investigation into an unhinged shooter.

Elliot Chase's crime spree begins when he shoots a bunch of people in an impound lot after they refuse to allow him to retrieve anything from his vehicle. Chase then goes on the run with a bunch of guns.

Major Crimes' investigation quickly discovers the shooter was recently divorced. His ex-wife worries that he may have attempted suicide. He was depressed after losing his job and his home. She is horrified when she is asked to give the cops a list of all his enemies. He blamed everyone for his problems and that's why he was so depressed.

Meanwhile, Elliot goes on a shooting spree to eliminate his perceived enemies, starting with his former supervisor, who he says stole money from the company. He keeps switching cars, making him hard to track.

The cops catch a break when they are making calls and accidentally get in touch with Elliot instead of his latest victim. They rush towards a conference of mortgage brokers where they are sure Elliot is planning his next attack.
