Recap

Solomon and Hana meet at their school, where she takes him to a store.

She convinces him to steal something for her in that store, and he tries to but gets caught.

At the police station, his father Mozasu goes to pick him up, but the officer wants to get him suspended from school.

The officer gets a strange phone call, telling him to release young Solomon. He releases them.

Mozasu vows to send Solomon to the USA after this streak of acting out.

Joseb yells at Kyunghee for going to the moneylender with Sunja. He is disappointed in them.

Sunja stands up for Kyunghee, taking the blame. He still is angry and blames Sunja for being indecent.

He storms out, and Kyunghee follows pleading with him.

When Kyunghee returns, she sees Sunja standing in a puddle of water; her water has broken, early.

Mozasu and his wife Etsuko deal with the news that her daughter has AIDS.

Isak has a woman begging to help her with her son's infidelities.

Isak heads to the son's place of work to try and talk him out of his rebelliousness.

Solomon finds Hana in the hospital: she's the one with AIDS.

She's content with dying, even if Solomon doesn't want her to die.

The man Isak talks with talks about how the work is unfair and unsafe.

Hana reveals that she got the disease from a rich person from a well-off family.

The man claims that the bosses humiliate them and treat them like animals.

Isak warns him that men have been arrested for less. The man storms off, leaving Isak to consider what he said.

Hana tells Solomon that he'll never be one of them.

He heads to his office to pack up his things, and everyone has shut him out. Naomi almost talks to him, but doesn't.

A man approaches him outside his office claiming they have a lot in common.

Sunja isn't worried about her giving birth, but is more worried about the location of Joseb.

The birth is causing her a lot of pain.

Isak finds Joseb drunk and spewing things that could get him arrested.

Isak confronts Joseb about their lives.

Solomon gets in the car with the man, who expresses interest in pachinko.

He wants to get Solomon in on a deal to open Pachinko parlors around the world.

Hana does not approve of her mother's relationship with Mozasu.

Grandma Sunja arrives in the hospital room and reprimands Hana for being so ungrateful.

Hana then threatens Grandma Sunja with what she said when Hana was young.

Grandma Sunja clarifies what she meant, telling Hana about her other son.

She claims she ruined his life, making him disappear.

Young Sunja continues to go through labor with Kyunghee by her side.

A neighbor barges in annoyed at all the yelling, but then sees Sunja and immediately jumps into action to help.

Isak and Joseb's drinking gets interrupted by the police harassing a man.

Joseb wants to stand up and say something, but Isak prevents him.

Young Sunja is having trouble giving birth.

Joseb and Isak discuss their suffering, and how bringing Sunja into their lives has ruined it.

Isak stands up to him, claiming that Sunja is an amazing woman. He claims he wants to change the world for his and Joseb's children.

Sunja gives birth to a baby boy, and has a very emotional reaction.

Isak arrives to greet his baby boy, and Sunja asks for Joseb to name the baby.

He names the baby Noa, after the man in the bible.

Etsuko continues to care for her Hana, and loves her no matter what.

Grandma Sunja brought a whole meal with her to eat at the hospital. Solomon is angry.

Solomon blames his grandmother for losing his job at the bank because she made him feel pity for the woman.

Grandma Sunja tells him about how she could have been rich if she followed Koh Hansu.

Koh Hansu tells his wife about the birth of his son through Sunja, claiming she failed.

He releases her from her conjugal duties.

She claims that he sullied her body, and that it doesn't matter now.

She asks him what his son will think of him and the type of person that he is.

Sunja: Brother-In-Law, will you name the baby?
Joseb: Me? I don't deserve that honor.
Isak: You are the crown of this family. It's not an honor, but a duty.

Hana: Do I... look hideous to you?
Etsuko: I only worry that you are in pain. You are still my Hana. Nothing will ever change that.
