The Earth Com campus is empty of people except for "Jax" who spends her time eating prepared food and learning from a tablet app.

A book appears and, reading from it, she breaks her cycle, hears a sound, and finds her way to decrepit and overgrown passages.

Flashes of memory cause her pain until she's on the ground. A voice admonishes her for going into the back room. "Jax" apologizes to "mother" who turns out to be Zazie. "Jax" is, in fact, Bloom.

Enroute back to Earth, Jett asks Xander to let him help find Zion but the Admiral has ordered them to return.

Shral sends a transmission, informing Xander of Jax's pregnancy and delivery. Xander is shaken by the news.

Zazie is drilling Bloom on her learning. Zazie asks about hormonal flux readings and Bloom says she heard a noise at breakfast that scared her. They review the Pandora myth and Zazie reminds Bloom that she is not to be curious or to feel bad emotions otherwise bad things will happen.

Xander visits Jett's quarters and discovers that Ralen has left the ship.

Bloom continues to read from the book of love poetry and hears the sounds again. She wanders out of her room and runs into Ralen who calls her by Jax's name. Bloom doesn't know him.

In the real Jax's room, Shral is trying to calm a distraught Jax. Finding only one other biological signature on the baby blanket, Shral pulls up the corridor surveillance footage and they see Zazie leaving with the baby.

Despite being frightened of Ralen, Bloom has memory flashes of Ralen and accepts him as a friend. She starts to inspect him as she's never seen anyone but Zazie in her life. Ralen explains that he went to sleep on the Dauntless and woke up in this place. When he promises to figure out and help her with his situation, Bloom's forehead glows which takes him off-guard.

When Zazie approaches, Jax hides Ralen in her room. Alone with him, she asks him about poetry. When she starts to flirt with him, he reminds her that she is with Xander. This sparks a memory of an angry Ralen and she gets upset and runs away.

Ralen follows her to the back room. She calls out for her mother then tries zapping the door which then reflects back the charge knocking both her and Ralen unconscious. Zazie emerges from the door.

Bloom starts her daily routine over again although the book is still there. The sounds start again and lead her to the room where she finds Xander and Jett unconscious on the floor.

She wakes them and has flashes of Jax's memories of Xander and runs away.

They follow her into the lounge and she hits Jett with a bottle.

They have a conversation under the assumption that Bloom is Jax and that she has amnesia. Xander thinks they've traveled to the future. Xander sends Jett away and he tries to get Bloom to lead him to Eve, assuming that's who she's talking about when she refers to "mother"

Outside, the city and campus are destroyed and fallen into decay. Bloom insists that it's always been this way.

Jett traces power readings to the door but gets zapped before he can tell Xander.

Bloom brings Xander to her art room and shows him drawings she's done of him before ever meeting him.

Jett wakes up tied to a chair. Zazie arrives and interrogates him on how he got there. She reveals they are on another Earth, her Earth, where there was no migration and the entire planet died but Eve and Tierney saved her.

Tierney shows up and fills in some of the backstory including the fact that Jett gave Zazie what she needed to impregnate Jax with her own clone. She also tells Jett who Bloom is.

Xander declares his love to Bloom but realizes that that she's not Jax. She has another flash of Xander's past with Jax and runs again. Jett finds Xander and explains about Bloom. Zazie offers to show them something else but Tierney interrupts and points out that Eve's plan to create a perfectly happy and contented Pandora to report to the Ancients isn't working.

Zazie realizes that Tierney gave Jax the book and brought Ralen and Xander to this world. Tierney wanted to show Bloom that real love hurts. Tierney proposes Xander help her destroy the Ancients first. Bloom sees Tierney proposition Xander.

Zazie and Tierney bring Jett and Xander to Ralen. Bloom follows them through the door and finds the lab. Zazie and Tierney explain that they tried cloning Jax independently and the results were monstrous and unviable. Bloom freaks out, attacks Zazie, and starts to coalesce a distortion around her. A portal opens behind her and she leaves through it, quoting Keats before disappearing.

Xander orders Tierney to take them back to their universe. She activates a transport for all of them.

Jax and Shral wait in a field for Osborn. When he arrives, Admiral Lucas has him arrested. She has Jax and Shral arrested as well.

Zazie and Jett talk and he reassures her that she'll get a second chance. Zazie returns to her room and finds a data cube with a message from Bloom.

Jax is left in her holding cell, still desperate to find her daughter.
