Someone sets fire to the basement of a busy bar forcing its patrons to scramble away for safety. The arsonists escape in a boat as another mysterious person watches the blaze from afar.

Perry wakes up, dresses, and heads to work to find that Della has hired a secretary. They discuss their next case revealing that the firm had moved from criminal to civil law. Perry looks uninterested.

A man leaves a hotel room and asks the sex worker he was with to go a little later after him. He greets his family and joins his father, who reads him for the fire.

His father demands that Brooks stop working hard to make changes in Los Angeles and focus on his family. He appears displeased.

Perry has a nightmare about Mrs. Dodson. He goes for a night ride on his motorbike, but the memories of a now-dead Mrs. Dodson keep haunting him. He gets into an accident.

The following day, he attends court, where his client was the plaintiff. He still appears distracted, and Della has to keep him focused.

He quizzes the witness and ends up winning the case.

Brookes introduces someone to his workers and reveals he planned to bring a baseball team to LA.

He is revealed to be in cahoots with a police officer who is also an investor in his businesses.
