When you watch Salem Season 2 Episode 10, you'll see just how cunning an ancient witch can be. Mary is determined to get her son back and tells John, no matter what happens to her, he must get their son to safety and get the devil out of him. Mary goes to the boat where Countess Marburg's relic is, but is met with a few surprises in her search for the relic, but she is able to push through the magic, get the relic and take it to the woods. In the woods, Mary meets Countess Marburg, Sebastian and her son and tries to bargain with the Countess about the relic. If the Countess gives her son back, she can have her relic, but before things can get too dicey, John swoops in and saves the boy while Countess Marburg and Sebastian take Mary. While at the house, Sebastian proves why he can't be trusted when he has Mary arrested for having sex with Dr. Wainwright and is willing to testify against in to prove her guilt. Meanwhile, Cotton is saved by John Alden, but John wants help with an exorcism which Cotton agrees to. Cotton goes to see Anne and tells her that what he's about to do, he's not sure if he'll make it out alive, so they should get married now.
