Recap

Dal tries to create a Captain's Log as per Janeway's advice but is having difficulty finding the words.

Janeway summons the crew to the bridge to show them an uncharted M-class planet she recommends they explore.

Dal doesn't want to take the time that might allow The Diviner to catch up to them. He changes his tune when Janeway threatens to report him to Starfleet.

The Protostar flies down through the atmosphere and finds a lush looking planet. They land bumpily and leave Gwyn in the brig.

Janeway equips the crew with tricorders and Dal finds a phaser. She also reveals the Runaway, a state-of-the-art dune buggy-style vehicle.

Janeway gives them an hour to explore and take samples of the planet.

Zero's readings show that there are no nutrients in the soil which is at odds with the abundance of flora.

Dal takes off in the Runaway. Rok is disappointed, but she is quickly distracted by the things around her. The entire team goes in separate directions.

Some native vegetation appears to be stalking them.

Murf and Gwyn spend some time together, but Murf is lured away by a drone's movements.

Gwyn is able to telepathically summon her liquid metal weapon to her, using it to disable the brig computer and containment field.

Janeway tries to stop Gwyn on the bridge, but it turns out The Diviner actually trained Gwyn on Starfleet tech without telling her why. She is able to take control of the ship with very little effort.

Janeway tries to contact Dal but he's dropped his com badge in the Runaway and is looking at the view.

Gwyn reprograms Janeway to comply with her orders. Gwyn has her open communication with Drednok and her father.

Zero discovers a hedge maze.

Pog discovers a swamp and a house cooking food he loves.

Rok finds a cute creature but her tricorder doesn't read it. Suddenly, she's surrounded by a large group of the creatures.

At the heart of the maze, Zero finds the engine of the Protostar.

Dal is still joyriding in the Runaway when he spots two people. He approaches cautiously. Janeway appears and comments that he doesn't even know what his parents look like. Dal points out that she can't be Janeway since Janeway said she can't leave the ship.

The being identifies itself as a representative of the planet and offers him his deepest desire as well as safety from The Diviner. In exchange, he must promise to stay. When he starts to walk away, the being, made of the sentient vegetation, attacks him. He hits it with his phaser and hurries to escape in the Runaway.

Gwyn prepares to leave with the ship, abandoning the rest. The planet's vegetation stops her, grabbing hold of the landing struts.

Dal uses his tricorder to track down the others. He rescues Zero first. They head for Rok next. They find her completely buried in the planet's vegetation. immersed in a dream about the cute creatures while the planet tries to digest her.

Zero wakes her up by throwing a rock at her. They rescue Jankom last and head back to the ship.

When Gwyn exits the ship to try to free it from the vines, The Diviner appears before her. She realizes when he's affectionate and proud of her that he is not the real Diviner.

As Dal and the others approach, the ship starts to lift off, but the vines still have it trapped. The ship's systems are self-destructing and Gwyn is advised to abandon ship. She finds the damaged shuttle craft in the bay and jumps in. Suddenly, she spots Murf, trapped between two crates.

As the ship's engines shut down, the crew in the Runaway see the shuttle eject from the bay. Dal opens it to find Murf and Gwyn cowering inside.

As long as our course is set to avoid any trouble, we shouldn't have any, right?

Dal

M-class? Ugh. Not for my crew. We all deserve A-class planets.
