As Sophie heads to see Hannah, she is approached by Baden, who tells her that Financial Crimes will be opening an investigation into the embezzlement at James's firm.

Sophie hopes Hannah will sign off on her going to an experimental clinic, but she refuses. Sophie then sells her jewelry to gather the money to go to the clinic without James knowing.

Harrison tells James he has 48 hours to make a dent in the $9 million he still owes the firm before he goes to the partners himself.

Baden sells drugs to a man, Todd, at the bar, who is later revealed to be James's co-worker.

Caroline visits James at work, and he asks her for money. She agrees to give $4 million and urges him to be honest with Sophie.

Sophie goes to the clinic, and while there, she has memories of the same woman she saw on the ground bleeding out next to a horse, and the two are kissing.

Realizing that they never celebrated their anniversary and hoping to get more information about the investigation for Baden, Sophie plans and night for her and James at the hotel, they got married at. While there, she meets an escort and pays her for a kiss while asking her how she does what she does.

Sophie asks James what their wedding was like, and later the two sleep together. She then gets him to admit that $11 million total is what the investigation at work is about.

Sophie goes to Baden with the information and a recording.

Sophie meets with Hannah, who tells her that she talked to James and then the clinic and that they will never treat her again.
