Brett assures Culp and Danner that he was not trying to escape. Aniq hands the small piece of note to Yasper and tells him to look for more in the garbage. Brett tells Danner he can explain, but it needs to be private. As Danner leads Brett away, Zoe asks what's going on. 

Aniq checks on Yasper, who is in the shower (because of the acoustics.) Aniq asks Yasper if he has checked the garbage, but Yasper has not. Aniq wants to try and listen in on Brett's interview.

Yasper, who installed the audio-visual system in the home, explains how they can listen in from the bathroom via the intercom. Yasper explains the sequence of buttons Aniq would need to press in the music room, and Aniq commits it to memory with a mnemonic device.

Danner begins interviewing Brett, but Aniq interrupts them, saying he lost his phone. He looks around and tries to secretly press the buttons on the intercom, but Brett notices and tells Detective Danner what Aniq was doing. Aniq accidentally turns on some music, and the bar rises.

Yasper comes in and makes everything right via the intercom. Yasper points out that Aniq's phone is in his pocket, and they both leave the room.

Yasper and Aniq head back to the bathroom to listen in on Brett's interview. Yasper sets up the intercom while Aniq searches through the garbage. 

Brett tells Danner his story, beginning with his arrival at the reunion. Ned greets Brett, telling him that he heard Brett wasn't going to show tonight, considering the divorce. Brett insists that it's a separation, and he can still make things right with Zoe.

Zoe arrives, confronting Brett, reminding him that they had agreed to let the reunion be her night. He says that he has left their daughter Maggie with the babysitter Veronica and also mentions that he is a volunteer firefighter. She says she just wants to have fun. 

Detective Danner notes that Brett was trying to prevent Zoe from sleeping with anyone else. Brett insists he was just trying to preserve his family. 

Brett heads into the gym. He watches Zoe. Indigo approaches Brett, telling him about her human breastmilk cheese initiative. 

Brett mentions to Danner that he had to keep his eyes on Zoe but that she was talking to the non-threatening Aniq. In the bathroom, Aniq scoffs, considering himself a "threat." Brett compares Aniq to Steve Urkel. Danner responds with hostility, saying she used to have a crush on Urkel. 

Brett recounts that he then went to the washroom, running into Xavier. As they pee side-to-side, they try to one-up each other, based on who can pee the longest, loudest, and hardest. Brett "wins."

As Xavier washes his hands, he mentions how attractive Zoe is tonight, and it will be his mission tonight to sleep with her. Xavier records a hook for a new song and then leaves Brett alone in the bathroom. 

Brett washes his hands and goes back to the gym. He sits down with Aniq and Yasper to keep an eye on Zoe and Xavier. Brett gets an idea and heads over to the DJ, bumping into Walt on the way. He pulls the cord out of one of the speakers and then tells the DJ there's something wrong with it.

While the DJ investigates, Brett uploads some family photos onto the DJ's laptop and inserts them into the grad slideshow. When the DJ returns, Brett tells him that the Jennifers said to start the grad slideshow now. The DJ refuses, so Brett initiates the slideshow himself. 

Brett gets choked up watching the slideshow of his family in happier times, but when he looks around, he sees Zoe leaving. As Brett goes after her, Walt bumps into him, asking if Brett remembers him. Brett twists his arms and runs off. 

Brett runs through the hallway and bumps into Chelsea. Brett asks Chelsea if she has seen Zoe. Chelsea pretends to get a call to mess with Brett. Chelsea says she has seen Zoe, but she's not telling -- it's woman's code.

Brett asks if she was with Xavier. Chelsea asks if Brett also hates Xavier. Chelsea mentions that she has some plans for Xavier tonight. She mentions St. Patrick's Day at Brett's uncle's house. Brett reminds her that she flipped out. Chelsea says that soon everyone will know the truth.

Brett stresses to Danner that Chelsea was mad about something Xavier did to her, and Chelsea was up to something.

In the bathroom, Yasper and Aniq are piecing together the note, which reads, "Now is the time to feel the pain. What goes around comes around." Yasper suspects that Chelsea wrote the note. Aniq posits that the person who wrote the note might have killed Xavier.

In the gym, Zoe confronts Brett, telling him he needs to take Maggie home. Brett tries to explain that Xavier is just using Zoe to get back at him. Maggie rushes in, greeting Brett happily. Aniq follows, breathless. Zoe announces that she is going to Xavier's afterparty and that Brett should not go.

Maggie asks Brett to take her home. Brett gives Zoe his word that he will not be at the party. Aniq and Zoe leave.

Xavier passes Brett and Maggie. Maggie recognizes him from the Hungry Hungry Hippos movie. Xavier indulges Maggie and does a line from the film. Maggie laughs. Xavier assures Maggie that he will take care of her mom tonight.

Xavier leaves, giving the finger to Brett. When Brett protests that his daughter is six, Maggie insists that she loves Xavier.

As Brett buckles Maggie into her car seat, she notices that Aniq still has her koala. Aniq, Chelsea, and Yasper drive off in Yasper's car. Maggie says she can't sleep without her koala. Brett begins his pursuit of Yasper's vehicle.

Maggie enjoys the high-speed ride. Brett spots Yasper's car. Brett pulls up next to them and gets them to roll down the window. Brett yells that they have Maggie's koala, but they don't understand what he's saying, and they drive off. Brett continues his pursuit.

Danner remarks how dangerous this ride must have been for Maggie. Brett assures her that the car seat made it as safe as possible, not to mention how much fun Maggie had.

Brett tosses Maggie some fruit snacks and continues to dodge and weave through traffic. He goes through an alley to cut Yasper off, but he gets sandwiched in by two delivery trucks.

Maggie insists she does not need her koala, but Brett tells her he will get it for her, even if it means going to the one place he swore he'd never go.

Brett arrives at Xavier's afterparty, leaving Maggie in the car while he retrieves her koala. A security guard approaches Brett, telling him to leave. Brett fights the security guard hand-to-hand, even getting into the catering area at one point. Eventually, Brett wins.

Brett grabs a uniform off the rack and walks around the party with a tray, undercover, looking for Aniq.

Upstairs, Brett spots Aniq. He hands off his tray to Walt and confronts Aniq. Drunk, Aniq tells Brett that he does not have the koala. Brett searches Aniq and finds the animal, then shoves Aniq into the 'X' of prawns. Zoe and Xavier are on the upper balcony and notice the scuffle.

Brett runs to Xavier's room to explain himself to Zoe. Zoe asks where Maggie is, and Brett lies, telling her that Maggie is with his parents. Brett challenges Xavier to a fight. Frustrated and being objectified, Zoe leaves the two of them to it.

They continue to insult each other. Xavier tells Brett that he's trying to control everyone, but he's the one who's out of control. Brett realizes Xavier is right, but he still grabs Xavier's hat and tosses it over the balcony.

Danner is pleased that her deduction about the hat was correct. Brett approaches Zoe and admits that she was right -- he wanted to win her back. He apologizes, saying he just wants her to be happy, even if that means she ends up with Xavier.

Zoe assures him that she doesn't like Xavier. Relieved, Brett tells her that he will sign the divorce papers. Zoe starts to talk about her own experience, but Brett notices Maggie sneaking around and pretends that he has pooped his pants. He leaves immediately.

Brett enters Xavier's studio, where he finds Yasper. Brett asks Yasper if he has seen a six-year-old girl. Yasper says no, and Brett continues his search. He walks in on Mr. Shapiro and Quiet Heather having sex and leaves them to it.

Brett overhears Chelsea saying to Xavier that she wants to get him alone. Danner makes a note of this.

Brett finds Maggie watching Hungry Hungry Hippos in Xavier's home cinema. Brett and Maggie sneak out the back without being seen, and he buckles her back into her car seat. He also presents her with Kevin Koala, and she immediately falls asleep.

Brett goes back into the house to get his car keys, hearing screams as he enters. Jennifer #2 and Zoe ask him where he is going, telling him Xavier is dead.

Brett tells Danner that Maggie is still sleeping in the car, and he has been checking on her periodically, which is why he keeps sneaking off. Danner tells him she will have one of her officers check on Maggie.

Aniq realizes that Brett was just trying to get the koala back, and Brett was worried about Xavier getting with Zoe, not Aniq.

Culp confronts Danner, saying he just got a call from the captain saying that this is not their case. Danner insists that she can solve the case, but if she doesn't, she will take the rap for both of them. She says she knows the ringer, Germain, and insists that he will mess up the whole investigation. 

Aniq and Yasper assemble the entire note using band-aids. Yasper thinks they should give it to Danner. Aniq says they can't without incriminating themselves. Yasper then suggests they show it to Chelsea, saying they know she's behind it.

Aniq notices that the 'E's in the note are written as backward '3's, exactly the way as in the way "diarrhea" has been written on his face. Aniq posits that they simply have to figure out who wrote "diarrhea" on his face, and they will find the killer.
