After a long night of waiting and a couple of false alarm phone calls, Amy and Sheldon find out that they've won the Nobel Prize for Science. They are soon greeted by reporters and applause wherever they go which causes Sheldon a lot of anxiety and he starts running away from public situations and hiding from reporters.
Howard takes the opportunity to tell the reporter about himself by representing himself as Sheldon's best friend.
Raj finds Amy crying in the washroom over how she looks in the pictures being circulated on the Internet. He offers to take her out and help her get a make-over.
Leonard tries to reassure Sheldon that he'll be able to handle the changes that are happening but when Amy arrives with a haircut and new clothes, Sheldon lashes out and tells her to change back to the way he liked her.
Leonard follows him out into the hall where Sheldon insists that all the changes are too much for him. Penny arrives in the newly working elevator and Sheldon runs down the stairs, intent on escaping. Penny beats him to the lobby and takes him out for a drink.
Back at the apartment, Raj, Leonard, and Amy decide they should no longer cater to Sheldon's quirks.
Sheldon and Penny arrive home and Sheldon gets into the elevator to ride it up.
