Lucrezia and Giulia escape from Sforza's estate only to be captured by the French army as they advance towards Rome.
The Pope sends Juan and what is left of his army into battle against King Charles. The young Borgia finds him and his army way over their heads as the French are ready to destroy. It is Lucrezia, who had won over King Charles with her charm, that saves the Papal army from destruction. She persuades Charles to parley, and Juan to retreat.
The Pope then prepares to meet the King who will either depose him or perhaps imprison him.
